The Nigeria U23 national team have arrived in Manaus, Brazil for the Olympic Games after several travel delays ahead their opening match against Japan in few hours. The Dream Team had departed
Atlanta, USA where it has been training via a chartered Delta airline.
Nigeria will play Japan at 9pm local Brazilian time. This translates to 2am in Nigeria on Friday August 5. However, on whether the poor preparations and ill-timing of flight schedule will addect their performance, team captain Mikel Obi stated unequivocally, “we may be tired and frustrated, but we’re all still together and ready to win gold in Rio”.
